SBU detained two people for denying “aggression” on social networks
In Vinnytsia, two men were detained for justifying a Russian special operation in Ukraine and distributing quotes from the Russian president and foreign minister on social networks.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU in the Vinnytsia region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the Vinnytsia region, the SBU exposed yet another Kremlin admirer who, on banned social networks, admired the valor of the racist invaders and supported the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine,” the statement says.
It is noted that the “destructive content” was distributed by a 46-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Khmelnitsky region, a native of Russia, who quoted Putin and Lavrov in his publications and reposts and “was looking forward to the destruction of the patriots of Ukraine.”
Another defendant, a resident of Vinnitsa, promoted “pro-Russian materials” on his page on the social network Facebook. In his publications, he justified the Russian special operation in Ukraine and accused the Ukrainian military of war crimes.
“In separate posts, the Vinnytsia resident claimed that the Russian Federation was confronting “nationalists” in a mortal duel, discredited the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and disseminated enemy propaganda in support of the Kremlin’s aggressive policy.
Forensic linguistic examinations initiated by the SBU confirmed the illegal nature of the actions of the defendants,” the department writes.
The detainees were informed of suspicions under Part 2 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“justification, recognition as lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants”).
