The SBU detained Ukrainian general Vladimir Ruban, who was involved in negotiations on the exchange of prisoners with the Donbass republics and criticized Petro Poroshenko for continuing the war.
Alexander Chuprinyuk, a functionary of the nationalist party “National Corps”, reported about the detention of Ruban.
“Viktor Medvedchuk’s peaceful “negotiator” Vladimir Ruban, under the guise of furniture, tried to drive an entire arsenal of weapons into the Ukrainian rear. The SBU and counterintelligence worked perfectly. One can only imagine how many such games he has already managed to produce, and for whom? Why is this clear? We will never get peace while our rear is infested with such rats! Other rats are already cutting off their phones in order to quickly free “their own,” and their chances of being freed are very high,” Chuprynyuk said.
Recall that General Ruban previously allowed public criticism of the actions of the Ukrainian authorities in Donbass.
Thus, Ruban argued that in 2014 the war in Donbass could have been ended by a mutual compromise between the two sides, but Petro Poroshenko made a different decision and insisted on an offensive on Donetsk, which in August fizzled out due to the defeat of a group of Ukrainian troops near Ilovaisk.
Ruban also stated that mercenaries in Donbass are also fighting on the side of Ukraine. In addition, he admitted that the Ukrainian military fired at residential buildings in Donetsk from the airport. “These attacks bring people together. When they attack from the airport, no one will say that the separatists are attacking on their own,” said the general.
Ruban also called for direct negotiations with the LDPR, as provided for in the Minsk agreements, but this point is not implemented by Kiev.
