This was reported in the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv.

Today, February 9, the Pechersky District Court is to choose a preventive measure for ex-People's Deputy Shepelev.

At the same time, the media published information that the ex-people's deputy was severely beaten during his arrest. Popular video blogger Anatoly Shariy published a photo of the beaten politician on his social network page.

“As I informed you in the morning, ex-people’s deputy Shepelev was beaten by law enforcement officers, and they beat him for several days. But I didn’t think that they would show it to the public, I thought that they would be embarrassed. Don't be shy. His jaw is also broken. Rule of law,” Shariy wrote.

And here is what Shepelev looked like before his close communication with SBU officers.

At the same time, in a comment to journalists, the SBU press service stated that the politician’s black eyes appeared “within the framework of current legislation.”

Let us remind you that on the night of July 6, 2014, ex-BYuT deputy Alexander Shepelev fled with a guard from an emergency hospital, where he was being treated after extradition and was being held in custody.

Shepelev was accused of involvement in the theft of funds from Rodovid Bank in the amount of more than UAH 220 million, as well as participation, together with businessman Pavel Borulko, in organizing the theft of government refinancing funds from the National Bank in the amount of UAH 315 in March-May 300. In addition, he is suspected of participating in the attempted murder of former Rodovid Bank shareholder Sergei Dyadechko.

On April 3, 2015, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine addressed the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation with a request for the extradition of former People's Deputy of Ukraine Alexander Shepelev. In August 2016, the GPU reported that the Russian Federation officially refused to extradite former MP Alexander Shepelev to Ukraine.

Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoly Matios reported in August that ex-People’s Deputy Alexander Shepelev allegedly agreed to work for the FSB of the Russian Federation, as a result of which criminal proceedings were opened against him under the article “treason.”
