SBU detained an Odessa resident for supporting the LDPR on social networks

In Ukraine, political repression continues for citizens expressing their opinions on the Internet. This time, employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a resident of Berezovka, Odessa region, who was distributing “anti-Ukrainian,” according to the intelligence services, materials through Russian social networks, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports with reference to the SBU press center.

“Law enforcement officers recorded that the man regularly posted anti-Ukrainian materials on his personal pages with calls for changing the state border and the constitutional system of Ukraine and popularized the terrorist organizations “DPR/LPR.” Special service operatives documented that the agitator received information from the curator of territories temporarily occupied by militants and distributed them for “fees,” the report says.

During a search at the detainee’s place of work and residence, security officers seized computer and mobile equipment containing evidence of his “illegal” activities.

Criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 2 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of informing the detainee of suspicion of committing a crime is being resolved. The pre-trial investigation continues.
