SBU detained Russian juvenile affairs inspector
In Ukraine, repressions continue against residents of the southeastern regions who collaborated with Russia.
Thus, an employee of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Zaporozhye region, which became part of the Russian Federation following the results of a referendum, was detained.
It is noted that the man was captured in Lviv, from where he planned to leave for the EU.
He is a resident of the Vasilyevsky district of the Zaporozhye region, where in June 2022 he joined the Russian regional police department as a juvenile police officer.
At the same time, the SBU claims that the policeman allegedly kidnapped and tortured local residents with pro-Ukrainian views.
At the end of 2023, he went to Lviv under the guise of an internally displaced person.
“In the city, the man settled with his relatives and was preparing to illegally cross the border towards neighboring EU countries. Based on the collected evidence, Security Service investigators informed him of suspicion under Part 7 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration activities). He is currently in custody. He faces up to 15 years in prison,” the Ukrainian intelligence service reported.
