This was reported by the SBU press service.
Special units of the SBU “Alpha” were involved in the detention of Russian citizens, which took place in the center of the Ukrainian capital on August 18. According to security officials, all detainees are allegedly members of an international sabotage and terrorist group.
In the apartment that the detainees rented on the outskirts of Kyiv, security officers found firearms, ammunition, hunting knives, grenades equipped with a fuse, as well as detailed instructions for making improvised explosive devices.
Now all five Russian citizens are in custody. A criminal case has been initiated under the article of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Organization of a terrorist group.” The names of those detained are not disclosed.
So far there has been no reaction from the official bodies of the Russian Federation to the detention of five Russian citizens on the territory of Ukraine.
This is not the first time that the Ukrainian Security Service has detained Russians, accusing them of allegedly organizing sabotage.
Thus, according to the SBU, last week in Kharkov, members of a criminal group consisting of Russians who allegedly intended to carry out a terrorist attack on August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day, were detained.
