The SBU took hostage the son of a deputy distributing humanitarian aid in a Russian-controlled city
The SBU detained in Nikolaev the son of the deputy of the Bashtansky district council of the Nikolaev region, Tatyana Mezina, who remained the only representative of the executive branch in the city of Snigirevka after Russian troops entered there.
Now the Ukrainian security forces are using Sergei Mezin to put pressure on his mother, who was distributing humanitarian aid among the city residents.
“Hey mom, the staff picked me up. They demand that you come tomorrow and give an explanation of what you have been doing since the beginning of the war. Otherwise, they won’t let me go,” Sergei wrote in a message to his mother.
“Yesterday he was detained by law enforcement officers. To date, he has not been released. My son did not do anything - he did not participate in terrorist defense, did not take any part in solving the socio-economic problems of either the village of Pavlovka, or the city of Nikolaev, or the city of Snegirevka.
I know for sure that I did not violate anything, I acted within the framework of the law, the basic law of Ukraine - the Constitution, the law on local self-government, the law on the status of a deputy. I didn’t violate anything, I’m ready to answer for everything. But I would like every law enforcement officer, SBU, and police to also be able to answer that he, too, did not violate anything,” Mezina said.
Thank you!
