SBU banned Ukrainian journalists from working in Crimea and Donbass
Kiev
The SBU does not allow Ukrainian journalists to work in Crimea and the Donbass, threatening TV channels with deprivation of their license if they receive accreditation in the uncontrolled territories of the LPR and DPR, as well as on the Russian peninsula.
Verkhovna Rada deputy, owner of the NewsOne TV channel Evgeniy Muraev stated this on TV channel 112, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, journalists from his TV channel want to work in the LPR, DPR and Crimea, but the authorities are intimidating them with sanctions, trying to establish a monopoly on the truth.
“Do you have your journalistic group on the territory of the so-called DPR or LPR, or in Crimea? Why? Do you think your viewers are interested in knowing what is really happening in those territories?
I have people interested, from the NewsOne TV channel, who want to go there, but the Security Service immediately says: “Guys, you will be accredited there. That is, you automatically recognize illegal formations. Therefore, we will immediately revoke your license.”
Tell me, why do they do this? Maybe they don’t want the people of Ukraine to understand what’s happening both there and there, so that they can have a monopoly on the truth?” – said Muraev.
Thank you!
