The SBU said that thanks to it, the May holidays will be held without “Russian provocateurs”
The SBU warned of “provocations” that were allegedly planned by the Russian special services on the territory of Ukraine during the May holidays, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in a message from the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine.
“Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detected and prevented attempts by Russian special services to carry out provocations on the May holidays due to the use of prohibited social networks,” the statement said.
In March and April, two residents of Kiev and three residents of the Odessa region were detained on such charges, who, according to the SBU, “on the instructions of the Russian special services, ran anti-Ukrainian communities” on the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.
“On the eve of the May holidays, the attackers organized a search and recruitment of perpetrators of provocations in the southeastern regions of the country,” the intelligence service added.
The SBU claims that “Russian curators set the task for the perpetrators to distribute messages through the specified social networks to incite ethnic hatred and calls for organizing protests.”
Judging by the “seditious” screenshots posted by the SBU, we are talking about events in memory of the Odessa tragedy of May 2, 2014, when, during clashes with nationalists, activists of the local anti-Maidan movement “Kulikovo Pole” and just random Odessa residents were burned alive in a trade union house set on fire by Maidan protesters.
