SBU officers imprisoned a pensioner for six months for “financing the DPR”
While crossing the Ukrainian border near Mariupol, SBU officers detained a retired private entrepreneur for six months, whom the Ukrainian special services accused of paying taxes to the treasury of the Republic.
The victim told journalists of the Ministry of Information of the DPR and employees of the International Red Cross about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I crossed the Ukrainian border at the Gnutovo checkpoint near Mariupol. I was detained by SBU officers only because I am a private entrepreneur and pay taxes to the DPR. If you pay utility bills in the DPR, you are already a potential criminal for the Ukrainian people.
I am 70 years old. They took away my pension, took my VAZ 21063 car, the keys to my apartment, my phone, my money. That is, “stupidly” they simply made me a beggar and robbed me.
They initially arrested him for two months, then for the same amount of time, then again - and so on for a long six months. I was kept in terrible conditions,” the man said.
It turns out that, in essence, any resident of the Republic can fall under the article “financing the DPR”.
“Today I am like this, tomorrow another person will go, and he will also be arrested. They are simply taking us hostage,” said a released DPR resident.
