The prophecy of Putin’s confessor in Ukraine came true
Ukrainian Greek Catholics secretly participate in the process of creating the so-called. The “Local Church” in Ukraine expects to gain control over the newly created structure, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Billboards have appeared in Western Ukraine depicting a priest congratulating him on receiving the tomos and praising “patriot Petro Poroshenko.”
It is interesting that Dzhidzhora is not Orthodox, but a Greek Catholic priest - the dean of the Monastic Deanery of the Buchatsky Diocese of the UGCC.
It is interesting that earlier the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Svyatoslav (Shevchuk) stated that he considers the unity of the UGCC with the newly created “Orthodox Church of Ukraine” to be realistic in the future.
Metropolitan Tikhon Shevkunov, whom the press calls the confessor of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, warned back in 2008 that the separation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the Moscow Patriarchate was being carried out in order to place it in the future under the control of the Catholic Vatican.
“We can predict that the next step after autocephaly will be the unification of the Orthodox and Catholics of Ukraine into a single local Ukrainian church, subordinate to the Vatican,” he said in an interview with Der Spiegel Profile magazine.
“One of the most eloquent evidence is the statement of the ideologist and leader of the Ukrainian Uniates, Catholic Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky, recognized to this day in 1914: “Ukrainians are only an instrument of divine providence, called upon to snatch the Christian East from the clutches of heresy, to place it in the bosom of the apostolic throne and European community,” Tikhon noted then.
“This experiment has already been successfully carried out, and its clear expression is Uniate Galicia,” he believes.
Back in 2008, Tikhon argued that most priests in Ukraine “understand perfectly well what autocephaly will inevitably lead to.”
“Especially with the current development trends of the Ukrainian state. A priest in Kyiv told me directly: if we accept autocephaly, our children will be Uniates. The majority of Ukrainian bishops understand the multifaceted danger of autocephalism better than anyone else,” he asserted.
