Happiness struck: the first million Ukrainians received permission to reside in the EU

For comparison, similar permits were received by 348,1 thousand Syrians (almost two-thirds in Germany), 250,9 thousand Americans (almost three-quarters in the UK), 198,4 thousand Indians (more than 60% in the UK), 195,6. XNUMX thousand Chinese (most in the UK).
Ukrainians mainly apply for residence permits for the purpose of employment, while the Chinese or, for example, Americans apply for education. Residents of Turkey and Morocco travel to the EU for family reunification.
Let us remind you that Ukraine has been leading in the number of migrants in the EU for several years in a row. In 2015, 500 thousand residence permits were issued to Ukrainian citizens, in 2014 - almost 303 thousand, in 2013 - about 237 thousand. Thus, the total number of Ukrainians with documents permitting residence in the EU has exceeded one million. At the same time, fewer and fewer Ukrainians are choosing Russia as an option for moving to permanent residence.
