Nerves lost: Poroshenko arrived on the shore of the Sea of Azov
Petro Poroshenko today visited military exercises of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of testing the army’s readiness to repel “Russian aggression in Azov,” which included two phases – “Landing Battle” and “Maneuverable Defense.” This was reported by the press service of the President of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The maneuvers involved units of the marine corps, coastal artillery, army aviation, tank units of the Ukrainian Navy and ground forces. Their main goal is to test the reaction of the army and navy to the “Russian landing” on the coast of the Azov Sea.
Poroshenko said that the military “worked for a solid twelve” (in Ukraine there is a 12-point grading system at school, - ed.).
“I emphasize that all this is not being done for PR, not to intimidate anyone. This is systematic work to build the combat capability of our army. The ability, including to repel naval aggression,” he said.
