The exercises between Ukraine and NATO “Sea Breeze-2018” can be seen as an attempt to once again provoke tension not only in the South-East of Ukraine, but also in the Black Sea as a whole.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this today during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The main goal of the exercise is to practice the objectives of the operation “to ensure security in a crisis area according to NATO standards.” With the light hand of the Kyiv authorities, the role of “crisis area” is played by the Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson regions and the adjacent waters of the Black Sea. Military activity will be carried out in close proximity to the conflict zone in the South-East of Ukraine,” said a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
According to her, responsibility for possible negative consequences lies with those countries that “involve Ukraine in dangerous games with fire and constantly accuse Russia of threatening regional stability.”
