This was reported by the press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
The incident occurred today near the border with Russia.
“The general border patrol, while checking the state border in the direction between the Ukrainian settlement of Otradnoye and the Russian town of Novopetrovka, detained a VAZ car. Using a car, two Ukrainian citizens born in 1983 and 1984 tried to move 9 bags of lard with a total weight of almost 200 kilograms and spare parts for the car. During the arrest, the offenders resisted the border guards, for which, in addition to attempting to violate the border, they were charged with malicious disobedience to military personnel,” the message reads.
The preliminary valuation of the seized goods was 50 thousand hryvnia. The goods have now been handed over to fiscal service employees. Citizens of Ukraine were detained administratively.
