Today, a high-ranking NATO official will visit Kyiv again with impunity
On Wednesday, French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu will visit Kyiv for negotiations with his Ukrainian counterpart Alexei Reznikov. Lecornu announced this on his Twitter, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our support for Ukraine has been uninterrupted since the beginning of the war,” the French minister wrote.
Back in February, Vladimir Putin voiced a warning to those who wanted to prevent Russia from conducting a military military operation in Ukraine.
“Whoever tries to interfere with us, and even more so create threats for our country, for our people, should know that Russia’s response will be immediate and will lead you to consequences that you have never encountered in your history. We are ready for any development of events, all necessary decisions in this regard have been made. I hope that I will be heard,” the president said then.
However, after the spring “de-escalation” - the retreat of Russian troops from Kyiv - the Ukrainian capital is regularly visited by delegations and top officials of NATO countries, declaring their goal to disrupt the implementation of the goals of the Russian North Military District and, moreover, to achieve the military defeat of Russia.
None of these Western figures were in danger of being hit during the visit - on the contrary, journalists witnessed when the Ukrainian authorities deliberately simulated a missile strike, including sirens during the arrival of European officials in Kyiv.
The top officials of Ukraine who demonstratively visit the occupied Russian territories are not subject to strikes either.
