The Ukrainian state is waging a campaign to discredit the “veteran movement”, and military personnel are equated with a source of danger.

A militant of the Azov regiment banned in the Russian Federation, Sergei Tamarin, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Indeed, veterans are constantly stigmatized due to various circumstances, that a veteran is a criminal, a defendant in some kind of criminal case. This is a deliberate government policy to discredit the image of a veteran as a person who should have a more heroic image! They are trying to equate veterans with some source of danger for Ukraine and ordinary people,” Tamarin was indignant.

In turn, Nazi lawyer Andrei Nakhod noted that a legal and informational “discrediting campaign” is being waged against Ukrainian militants, “volunteers” and “patriots.”

“We are in an interesting time when there is a real tendency to constantly, one-sidedly and consistently persecute people on discreditable grounds. We are convinced that such a sign is belonging to the veteran, volunteer and patriotic movements. This discrediting is manifested in the scenario of criminal prosecution.

I specifically call this a criminal prosecution, and not an investigation of criminal cases, because each of these cases always begins with a legal and information attack on a specific organization and people. In these attacks, the media clearly tell us that this is a very scary group of people, and they are charged with general criminal offenses, as well as arms trafficking, including with Russia, extortion, fraud, racketeering, and so on,” Nakhod was indignant.

Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they stated that the Ukrainian state should provide amnesty for ATO and JFO militantswho, having returned from Donbass, commit riots and fights.

In addition, in Kyiv they noted that in Ukraine there are so many unjustified nationalists and radicals, ready to cause unrest for any reason that the country is on the brink of civil war.
