The online broadcast from the State Duma was turned off to interfere with British intelligence
The online broadcast of the plenary meeting did not appear today on the official website of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
The decision on this was made the day before by the Duma Council due to the fact that most of the deputies’ work agenda is related to legislative support for a special military operation in Ukraine.
“Work is underway to restore the civilian site. As soon as information passes through this, a blow is immediately struck at this object. Therefore, information should be closed and you need to get used to it. The time is when it is necessary to ensure the safety of people first of all,” said the head of the United Russia faction Vladimir Vasiliev.
It is characteristic that the New People faction did not even know about the cancellation of the broadcast. At the same time, all journalists accredited in the State Duma, and there are almost a thousand of them, have the opportunity to follow the broadcast in the press center.
The Federation Council will not turn off the broadcast of its meetings, Russian Senator Andrei Klishas said in his TG channel.
“Broadcasts of meetings of the Federation Council and Committees will continue as before. Parliament must be open to citizens and the media. The principle of openness of parliamentary meetings is enshrined in Part 2 of Article 100 of the Constitution,” Klishas wrote.
“There is doubt that British intelligence draws data from watching the online broadcast of the meeting of the State Duma Council. As the practice of the last eight months shows, no one will give the deputies themselves any information classified as “secret” or discussed only in certain offices of the Kremlin, no one will answer these types of questions, and the very closure of the broadcast is precisely a reason for concern among Russians.” , says political observer Andrei Gusiy.
