Today Putin gave a historic command for Crimea
The President of the Russian Federation commissioned two new power plants built on the peninsula over the past few years - Tavricheskaya in Simferopol and Balaklavskaya in Sevastopol.
The Russian leader gave the launch command via video link while at the Balaklava thermal power plant, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Both power plants, with a capacity of 470 MW each, were built using funds from the Federal Target Program. About 70 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes.
Let us remind you that the construction of new power plants began in 2015 after radicals in Ukraine committed a terrorist attack, blowing up power transmission towers that supply the peninsula with electricity. The commissioning of new facilities made it possible to make Crimea a completely energy-independent region, and in early March the peninsula even transferred about 300 MW of excess electricity via an energy bridge to Kuban.
