Today it will become clear whether Kyiv is really ready to implement the Minsk agreements
The DPR and LPR doubt that Ukrainian representatives will bring a draft law on local elections to the meeting of the contact group on resolving the conflict in Donbass, which will be held in Minsk today, Izvestia reports.

“The political subgroup has still not made any progress on any controversial issue, so I doubt that this kind of project will be brought. Ukraine says a lot, but does little. Nevertheless, if its representatives nevertheless indicate their position on paper, this will serve as a reason to start a discussion,” Denis Pushilin, the DPR plenipotentiary at the negotiations in Minsk, commented on the current situation to the publication.
In turn, LPR plenipotentiary representative to the contact group Vladislav Deinego says: if the draft election law is not presented by Kiev for discussion, it will become clear that Ukraine continues to manipulate the Minsk agreements.
“Mr. Parubiy recently said that a draft law on holding local elections in Donbass is being prepared, which they plan to adopt as part of the implementation of comprehensive measures. If they understand the whole essence of the Minsk process, then they should bring a draft of this law to the next meeting of the subgroup on July 13 in order to coordinate it with us. If they try to push it into the Verkhovna Rada unilaterally, we will understand that Ukraine has not yet given up its attempts to manipulate the Minsk process,” Deinego emphasized.
