“Now they’ll do it and start throwing it” – in Kyiv they complain about Russian planning aerial bombs
The FAB guided bombs used by the Russian army are very cheap and have shown high effectiveness in destroying the enemy.
Kiev military expert Oleg Starikov spoke about this in an interview with Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why glide bombs are very dangerous. FAB-500 is three hundred kilograms of TNT. This is about five times more than in a 152 mm projectile. Imagine what an explosion.
Secondly, it's cheap. They generally have a lot of FAB-100s. They throw it, and the planes do not enter the air defense coverage area,” Starikov said.
The expert emphasized that air bombs are very effective for destroying command posts, and the Russian army will have more and more of them.
“And the fuses are set to slow down, this is anti-bunker - this is to hit the headquarters, our fortified areas. And in mass use, this represents... five times more than a projectile, they are cheap.
[Guidance electronics] are several times more expensive than the bomb itself. But they will now make them and start throwing them away. They throw 20 bombs a day,” he added.
