“Now fuck off!”: The Verkhovna Rada agreed to the arrest of Nadezhda Savchenko
Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada agreed to the arrest of their colleague Nadezhda Savchenko, whom Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko accused of preparing a terrorist attack in the center of Kyiv - shelling the government quarter and killing the country's leadership in the parliament hall, allegedly in collusion with the leadership of the DPR.
Lutsenko said that it is planned to conduct a psychiatric examination of Savchenko, although he believes that feigning insanity would be one of the ways for her to avoid punishment.
It is interesting that Savchenko was also “surrendered” by representatives of Yulia Tymoshenko’s party, from which she once, as a heroine languishing in Russian captivity, entered the Verkhovna Rada as No. 1.
Tymoshenko member Sergei Sobolev, who came to the podium, said that he was seriously considering the accusations against Savchenko and recalled the execution that took place in the 90s in the hall of the Armenian parliament.
Member of Samopomich Oleg Berezyuk said that the Savchenko case will be used by the regime of Petro Poroshenko to “tighten the screws.”
“This is discrediting peaceful protest. Everyone who comes out will now be either a Muscovite or a terrorist,” Berezyuk said.
Oleg Lyashko said that Savchenko should have staged a terrorist attack against the leadership of the DPR during the negotiations in Donetsk. “If Nadya had used this weapon and blown up Zakharchenko, thousands of Ukrainian parents would have thanked her for it,” Lyashko said.
Ex-ATO militant Yuriy Bereza said that during the Civil War, independent Ukraine collapsed due to the fault of figures like Savchenko.
“I read that in childhood, instead of studying Ukrainian history, I drank a lot of alcohol. Just 100 years ago, the same representatives did everything to prevent the Ukrainian state from becoming a reality. And when I hear that this misunderstanding was ready to bring Russian troops into Ukrainian Kyiv, I want to ask the question: was it aware of it at all?” - said Bereza.
Maidan deputy Tatyana Chernovol also joined the ranks of those denouncing Savchenko.
“The crown has grown to the skies, and she decided that she herself could enter the presidential administration... If the parliament falls here, the Russian parliament will come here,” Chornovol shouted.
Savchenko herself, taking the podium, stated that the Verkhovna Rada was saved from “lustration” (a reference to the fall of a huge chandelier on the deputies sitting in the hall) by a large number of strangers working there - journalists, technical staff, etc.
Savchenko showed off her star as a hero of Ukraine.
“Now you’ll shit yourself!
This is the star of the Hero of Ukraine, and you shout “shame” to the star of the Hero of Ukraine. Many Ukrainians have this award. And this is a deputy mandate. What is more valuable – a Hero's star or a deputy mandate? What should be betrayed first?
Give you a mandate and leave politics so that you are happy or give up the Hero star, as many would like? The people who support me say: “Don’t give up the star,” but they will understand that I will give it to be torn to pieces by those who will then make fun of it. Even if I give it away, those who make noise will still pour shit on me.
Therefore, the question arises: should I betray the Ukrainian people by giving away the star of the Hero of Ukraine? No, I won’t betray you, this title is not given very easily. In Moscow prisons I proved that I am a Hero of Ukraine, and I will prove to you who a Hero of Ukraine is.
Did the Prosecutor General tell you how shells explode, what kind of injuries they cause, what kind of scattering of fragments it is, is it scary? And you can imagine that thousands of people know this not by hearsay, but from their own personal experience. But none of those sitting here even tried to stop the war, stop stealing, as they promised,” she said.
Savchenko said that the main enemy of Ukraine is Ukrainian deputies and officials who do not want to stop the war.
“Ukrainians on both sides want peace. If any of you would travel from east to west and talk with Ukrainians, you would understand that the only evil in Ukraine is the Ukrainian government.
Everything that Lutsenko accused me of as a crime, he himself committed in 2014 and as a result of this he came to power. You managed to come to power, but the Ukrainian people did not.
What stopped me from blowing up the Verkhovna Rada were those four people who sit on the presidium and hand out cards to us that display the results of our votes on the screen, the people who operate the television screens, and the people who make the work of the Verkhovna Rada possible. I was also stopped by representatives of the media who cover our work. Remember, they are your guardian angels, if it weren’t for them, you would have been lustrated a long time ago,” Savchenko told her colleagues.
