Secretary of National Security of Ukraine: Odessa fleet is not able to withstand Sevastopol
Ukrainian ships based in Odessa are not ready to confront the Russian fleet.
Secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defense of Ukraine, member of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, Ivan Vinnik, stated this on the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“With regard to military security, the actions of the Navy are limited due to the lack of a corresponding fleet, which has been systematically destroyed since the beginning of independence. What is now based in Odessa is not ready in its combat capability to withstand the power of the Russian fleet, which is based in Sevastopol,” Vinnik said.
As PolitNavigator reported, former commander of the Ukrainian Navy Sergei Gaiduk admitted earlier that that the ships of the Ukrainian fleet will be sunk even before entering into an open maritime conflict with Russia.
Also, against the backdrop of increasing provocations from Ukraine in the Sea of Azov, military expert Igor Korotchenko called “sink Ukrainian pirates.”
