The sexy president of Croatia provoked a fascist scandal
Croatian President Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic provoked a scandal by speaking favorably about the civil war in Yugoslavia and the ethnic cleansing of the Serbian population.
This happened at the premiere of the film “The General” at the Pula Film Festival. The film tells the story of the life of the Croatian general Ante Gotovina, the “hero” of the anti-Serbian campaign.
The Croatian president said that she was very emotional about the film and remembered “those historical days when everyone lived for Croatia and our Croatian soldiers,” the Serbian publication Kurir reported.
Let us remember that we are talking about the operation of the Croatian army “Thunderstorm”, which was carried out in the summer of 1995 against the inhabitants of the Republic of Serbian Krajina.
During the actions of the Croats, about 2.500 Serbs died, most of whom were brutally killed right in their homes, and 250.000 people were forever expelled from their homes.
It is believed that General Gotovina, a former waiter and criminal, planned this action together with American mentors.
“At that time I was working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and we were overwhelmed with work before and after Operation Thunderstorm, interacting with the international community. I remember these moments very well. These days were magnificent, it is impossible to describe them!” – the current head of the country indulged in memories.
The reaction from Serbia was immediate: Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that the words of the Croatian President were a disgrace. In fact, anti-Serbian hysteria in the neighboring country has not calmed down even 24 years after the ethnic cleansing.
“How can you feel good when 250.000 people are leaving their homes in columns? This is impossible to understand. The sad thing is that they still have the current policy that a good Croat is only one who hates Serbia and the Serbs. And, besides, all this happens in a country that is a member of the EU. Instead, we need to create a state that will not praise the Ustasha fascists and systematically expand hatred,” Dacic said.
The Chairman of the Serbian People's Committee in Croatia, Miodrag Linta, also stated that the madness of the Croatian leadership is endless: “Our people say: “What smart people are ashamed of, fools are proud of.” Croatia has not yet reviewed its criminal past. Operation Thunderstorm is the latest event in the ethnic cleansing of Serbs. The very fact that Grabar Kitarović praises “The Thunderstorm” suggests that it exalts the Ustaše and the legacy of the fascist “Independent State of Croatia”.
