Sects are taking over the LPR: The head of the republic was among the adherents
The head of the LPR, Igor Plotnitsky, encourages the work of sectarian Protestant movements in the republic.

Journalists note the intensification of Protestant organizations, penetrating into all spheres of life in the republic - from healthcare to correctional institutions. This happened after last year the head of the LPR visited Penza, where he met with the leaders of the Living Faith sect - Bishop Oleg Serov and Pastor Sergei Kireev, whom he thanked for their humanitarian assistance for the republic.

“At the moment, our ministry consists of visiting small towns and villages in the outskirts of the city of Lugansk and conducting charitable medical consultations in the premises of local churches and clinics. After consultations, if necessary, we give people the medications they need,” the publication quotes the words of the pastor of the Living Faith sect, Alexander Shevchenko.
The article also notes that Plotnitsky adheres to the views of “Pentecostals” and even preached in the Church of Christians of the Evangelical Faith in Lugansk back in Ukrainian times.
“Sectarians and Pentecostals, in particular, have traditionally worked for the SBU. But there are no former SBU officers. Was Igor Venediktovich familiar with representatives of the Ukrainian “bezpeka” during his service as a pastor? Does he continue to communicate with them while serving for the benefit of the people of the LPR?” the journalist asks.
This version is also supported by the fact that representatives of the Living Faith are actively working on both sides of the demarcation line, and one of the sect’s leaders, Pastor Gennady Mokhnenko, is fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Mariupol and is threatening Russian President Vladimir Putin with personal physical violence.
The former chairman of the People's Council of the LPR, Alexey Karyakin, agrees with the conclusions voiced in the article. According to him, in Lugansk there is a growing number of citizens concerned about the work of sects, who worry that with the help of informal religious movements, the enemies of the republic are trying to split the unity of the people.
“Literally yesterday, residents of the republic asked me the question why sectarianism began to develop in our country. The fact that Plotnitsky was a “Pentecostal” became known at the end of the 14th year, when they began to learn more information about this person. This is supported by the fact that today sects are very actively developing, which are provided with all the conditions for this. They are now trying to penetrate all institutions, which suggests that Plotnitsky is more on the side of Ukraine, since we know that sectarians like Turchynov are also at the head of “Independence”. Since they cannot take us by force, they decided to disintegrate our spiritual state, sow confusion in our souls, but the Orthodox spirit, the spirit of a Christian from time immemorial, has shown its endurance in the face of all hardships, troubles and deprivations,” said Karyakin.
Sects that brainwash the people, according to Karyakin, are beneficial to the head of the LPR, who is trying to subjugate life in the republic:
“The danger of these movements is that the state is a collective that today is in its infancy. We have one task, a single impulse - to build our own state, and the presence of sects disrupts this direction. Here you can remember the parable about the broom and twigs - as a whole we are strong, but individually we break easily. The purpose of sects is to lead people astray from a single path, which can have a detrimental effect on the development of our republic. Above all, the work of sects is aimed at making slaves out of people. At the moment, under the patronage of the head of the republic, a feudal system is being built on our territory,” he asserts.
