The local publication Timer reports this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We are talking about students of one of the classes with the Moldovan language of instruction, of which there are 13 in Utkonosovka. In addition to the Ukrainian and Moldavian languages, at the choice of the parents, the children also study the Russian language. However, Ukraine does not publish Russian language textbooks for Moldovan schools and classes and, accordingly, does not supply them to schools. Finding herself in a difficult situation, the teacher decided to use textbooks produced in 1990, printed back in the times of the Ukrainian SSR. These textbooks, written off back in 2004, were kept in the back room of the school library, and these are what the schoolchildren received.

And everything would be fine, but only one of the parents noticed that his child was being taught the Russian language from a textbook containing, among other things, prohibited communist symbols - for example, an image of the flag of the Ukrainian SSR. He published images of sedition on social networks, which gave rise to a loud scandal that reached all the way to the Izmail District Education Department. They didn’t go too far there: the librarian who gave ideologically harmful books to schoolchildren was fired, the school director and the Russian language teacher were reprimanded, all seditious textbooks were confiscated and sent to waste paper,” the publication says.

Let us recall the background of the scandal. June 21, 2017, nationalist-minded Kiev television propagandist, military correspondent of the Inter channel Andrey Tsaplienko published on his page in the social network a denunciation of the village library.

“The occupation starts from the head. Moreover, from the nursery. And the enemies understand this well. These Russian language textbooks were recently issued to fifth-graders in the village of Utkonosovka, in the south of the Odessa region. The vast majority of Utkonosovka residents, about ninety percent, speak Romanian. Children are encouraged to learn another language. To choose from. But the choice, of course, is made not by children, but by adults. Parents choose Russian as a second language (as they say in the school administration). I have nothing against Russians. It’s not Pushkin’s fault that the occupiers speak his language. But I'm reading the textbook. And I fall into a stupor.

On the first page is a quote from Lenin. Moreover, not just “V.I.” is signed under it, but with reverence and in full - “Vladimir Ilyich Lenin”. Further, the installation “Russian is the language of international communication” is given. And a comprehensive explanation of why the Russians don't need a translator. We leaf through the textbook to page nine. “The red flag of our country is the flag of the world. The national flag of the Land of Soviets is our pride, a symbol of the independence and greatness of our Motherland. Perhaps the director of the Utkonosov school does not know that OUR country has completely different symbols of independence. And that country, the perimeter of which was marked with red flags, has long been gone. More than a quarter of a century, to be exact.

But the textbook of the Russian language of the Utkonosov school does not want to admit the obvious. And he teaches fifth graders: “From the snowy shores of Chukotka to the evergreen Carpathians, from the harsh islands of the Arctic Ocean to the sky-high peaks of the Pamirs, the expanses of our Motherland stretch.”

Ukraine, decommunization, fourth year of war. Now you have seen everything,” the Kiev propagandist was indignant.
