He stated this in an interview with the Kyiv publication Gordon.
“It goes without saying that all the accusations against volunteers are related to reality. Nothing like this. For example, in the Bati case, prosecutors made a big mess. They pretended that they did not know that Lykholit had been awarded orders. Although everyone knew perfectly well, because it was presented right at the trial. He was also clearly seen as the leader of a criminal gang. It’s as if he came to Donbass in 2014 to rob people. There is even a list of property that Dad allegedly robbed. And one of the victims in this case is a well-known separatist - the mayor of Severodonetsk. That is, the case has been molded,” the people’s deputy noted.
In his opinion, the commander of the Aidar battalion, Valentin Lykholit, call sign Batya, was released from custody only because the authorities were afraid of the air raids on Khreshchatyk.
“Lykholit was released only because the authorities were afraid of the tents on Khreshchatyk. Before this, they could not find judges, and did not want to resolve this issue at all. They were afraid in the same way as a stealing servant is afraid of his master suddenly returning. The owner is the people of Ukraine. Very rarely during these two years did people unite. Now, I think this will happen more often,” the people’s deputy emphasized.
