Their main complaint against the NBU is the inability to maintain the exchange rate of the rapidly depreciating hryvnia, as a result of which many bank borrowers cannot fulfill their obligations tied to the official NBU exchange rate. In total, several hundred people gathered, blocked part of the street, and also dragged metal barrels and car tires under the National Bank. It was also announced that it is planned to install a tent city under the NBU.

“We will stand here until our demands are met,” the protesters emphasized. – Call your relatives, invite your friends here. If they try to use force against us, then tomorrow the whole of Ukraine will come here, and we will show them what happened last year. There is no need to be afraid of these mercenaries."

In turn, the head of the organization “Civil Control of Banks,” Alexander Ivlev, informed the audience that banks began to forcefully evict people whose loans were overdue from their apartments.

“They break into ours, beating children,” the activist said. “And the bankers are behind it.” They took away our right to a normal life. We can no longer live in our apartments. We have the right to housing, but these bandits are depriving us of it, destroying the country's economy and taking away our jobs."
