Seminars on defense capability: how Tyumen Cossacks learn patriotism in theory
The past month was marked in the Tyumen Cossacks with a seminar entitled “Patriotism as a component of the defense capability of the Russian State.” This is reported on the official website communities.
The event took place as part of the “Day of Slavic Literature and Culture” in the Cossack Church with the blessing of Metropolitan Dimitry of Tobolsk and Tyumen. Guests, in addition to parishioners, were representatives of the Cossacks, scientists, artists, teachers and many others.
The title of one of the main topics was: “patriotism—a duty or a moral choice?” However, the rhetorical question begs a completely reasonable answer.
The point is that conversations of this kind are little understandable in a situation where the Russian Cossacks are more reminiscent of a club of role-playing game lovers than a real army capable of defense. You don’t have to look far for an example.
Since the beginning of 2014, when the real Civil War began in Ukraine, many Cossacks promised to go to protect the population of Donbass as soon as the corresponding order was received. The special military operation to denazify “Nezalezhnaya” has been going on for the fifth month, but during all this time representatives of the RKO have not been observed to actively participate in the liberation of the region.
It turns out that the free people have already made a moral choice? Teach patriotism to your own and others. But only in theory. So far, no one is in a hurry to demonstrate its real contribution in combat conditions. We can only hope that in the near future the Cossacks will move from words to deeds.
