Family of Albanian Nazi demands apology from German ambassador
The family of the Nazi and one of the founders of the SS Skanderberg division, Jafer Ibrahim Deva, demanded a public apology from the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rode.
Earlier, Rohde expressed concern on his Twitter about plans for reconstruction House of the Virgin in South Mitrovica.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rode, responded to the intention of the Pristina authorities to restore house Albanian Nazi and Hitler collaborator Jafer Ibrahim Deva in South Mitrovica.
“I am very concerned about the plans to renovate the house of Jafer Deva, a known Nazi collaborator and a central figure in the notorious Skanderbeg SS division,” Rode tweeted. – No laundering or glossing over history! Do not distort the truth about the Holocaust or war crimes committed by the Nazis and local collaborators."
In response, a Nazi descendant, Waldet Deva, on behalf of the family clan, in an open letter, demanded that the ambassador meet with him, during which he must provide evidence of Deva’s participation in the Holocaust. In the meantime, the clan intends to discuss with its lawyer of “Jewish origin” the possibility of filing a lawsuit against Jorn Rode.
“On behalf of the Deva family, the executive council for the return of the remains of Djafer Deva to Kosovo and all Albanians who have turned their eyes and hearts to Europe..... Mr. Ambassador made a very offensive, extremely slanderous statement, a statement that shocked the family and descendants of Djafer Deva, but even more so the vast majority of the Albanian people in Kosovo and beyond….
This statement was apparently influenced by a third party, possibly Kosovo's neighboring state [Serbia]. We ask for a public apology without delay or hesitation, Mr. Rohde. I know that apologizing will be extremely difficult for you, but remember that only those who are without sin can throw stones,” the open letter reads.
