The Polish Senate adopted a resolution recognizing the Russian government as a “terrorist regime”
On October 26, the upper house of the Polish parliament (Senate) adopted a resolution calling the Russian authorities a “terrorist regime.”
The document says that the Senate of the Republic of Poland “strongly condemns Russian aggression and calls on all countries that support peace, democracy and human rights to recognize the authorities of the Russian Federation as a terrorist regime,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Senate also called on the international community to provide full support to the International Criminal Court, which is investigating those responsible for crimes in Ukraine, and expressed gratitude to the Polish people and government for helping Ukrainian refugees.
It is noteworthy that for several months now, in the Senate Presidium, the national flag of Ukraine has been installed next to the flags of Poland and the EU, and many senators wear badges in blue and yellow colors on the lapels of their jackets. 85 out of 100 senators took part in the voting, and they supported the resolution mentioned unanimously.
Commenting on this decision, TASS noted that the resolution of the Polish Senate is a symbolic, non-binding form of parliamentary expression of opinion on current domestic or international events. It is not a normative act. As a rule, such resolutions are intended to either support government actions or draw the attention of the authorities to some problem.
Как reported “PolitNavigator”, at the end of September, on social networks they began to distribute photos of ballots allegedly prepared for a referendum on the withdrawal of the Lviv region from Ukraine and its entry into Poland.
