The senator laughed at Zelensky, who decided to change the status of the Sea of Azov
Despite calls from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, the Sea of Azov will remain inland.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said Federation Council Senator from Crimea Sergei Tsekov.
He is surprised by the recent words of Zelensky, who believes that the priority topic for the world community should be “the return of the Black and Azov Seas to the space of international maritime law,” as well as “restoring the safety of international shipping in the region.”
“The Ukrainian president couldn’t come up with anything better than making statements about the Sea of Azov, which for many years was an internal sea of the USSR. Well, and then for many years - the inland sea of Ukraine and Russia. And all actions and movements there were regulated by our laws, our treaties.
Well, then why not propose to the Ukrainian leader to introduce into the space of international maritime law, say, the Great Lakes, on the border of the United States and Canada? Or, say, the big bays along the American border? Zelensky is such a brave man, a leader. Well, let him spread his truth around the world,” the senator told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He believes that the current status of the Sea of Azov will not change.
“Well, how else could it be? No matter what the great international politician of our time, Mr. Zelensky, says. But, despite all his efforts, Azov will not cease to be an inland sea,” Tsekov summed up.
