The senator told what is behind the horror stories from Poroshenko
The bellicose and Russophobic rhetoric of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is explained by the upcoming elections.
Sergei Tsekov, a member of the Federation Council from Crimea, stated this in a commentary to Izvestia, assessing the latest statements by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who promised to arm Ukrainian paratroopers with the latest types of weapons, including American Javelin ATGMs.
“The situation in the economy is deplorable, the situation in the social sphere is generally catastrophic, the infrastructure of Ukraine is falling apart, Poroshenko’s rating is extremely low. Add to this the lack of achievements in socio-economic issues, and even against the backdrop of total corruption. So we have to make militant statements,” the senator believes.
According to him, despite the fact that Poroshenko has not yet announced that he will run for president, he has already decided on three points of his election program - the army, faith and language.
“All his activities revolve around these three points. Moreover, everything he says in these three areas is destructive for Ukraine, in my opinion. All this is directed against Russia, the Russian language and Russian culture in Ukraine,” Tsekov summed up.
