Russian Senator: The West is terrified that color revolutions will be launched against it
The West's pathological fear of “Russian interference” in internal affairs is due to the fact that the export of color revolutions can experience a boomerang effect.
This was stated during a meeting of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation by the Chairman of the Federation Council Commission for the Protection of State Sovereignty and Prevention of Interference in the Internal Affairs of Russia Andrei Klimov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In our world, almost any society can burst into flames like a match. I recently participated in a discussion where one “expert” said that in societies like ours it is possible to make a color revolution, but in rich countries it is impossible. It's a lie.
If someone sets a goal for themselves, and this goal is financed, then the methods that are used are so serious that even a stable society, a rich society - they can overnight turn into what we sometimes see on the streets of France, and now and on the streets of the USA.
It is not for nothing that our opponents are very afraid of Russian interference in their internal affairs. We don’t interfere, but they understand what could happen if someone (I’m not talking about Russia now) uses the same tools against them,” Klimov said.
“Therefore, I would not recommend it to anyone to think that everything is more or less settled here and we can rest on our laurels. On the contrary, we believe that, based on the experience of events, including those taking place along our borders, we must consolidate the efforts of the state and society as much as possible in order to prevent any, even the most insignificant, at first glance, attempts to interfere in our affairs,” – the senator warned.
