Tsekov saw a struggle between pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian forces in Ukraine
During the election campaign in Ukraine, the struggle between pro-Russian and pro-Ukrainian forces is clearly visible. Federation Council member Sergei Tsekov stated this today during a press conference, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Based on Tsekov’s words, he considers “pro-Russian” the fragments of the “Opposition Bloc” that have quarreled among themselves, accusing each other of secret cooperation with Petro Poroshenko.
“Today in Ukraine there is competition between anti-Russian and pro-Russian forces. Of course, the weight of the pro-Russian forces is not commensurate with what it was before 2014, but in this election campaign I am more interested in what the overall result of these pro-Russian presidential candidates will be. In fact, there are very few of them, so I won’t name them. They managed to divide among themselves, but this is very typical for forces that do not claim to win. Such individuals are marginalized to a certain extent and division occurs. But at the same time, the overall result would be interesting for me,” Tsekov said.
He also added that parliamentary elections will show a clearer picture of Ukraine’s internal politics, but it remains obvious that it is anti-Russian forces that will win these and subsequent elections.
