The former head of the Crimean Development Corporation, Dmitry Vorona, became a senator from the executive branch of the Zaporozhye region. This was announced by the acting governor of the region, Yevgeny Balitsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Dmitry Nikolaevich is a native of Donetsk and has extensive managerial and political experience,” said the head of the new region.

Indeed, Vorona is a native of Donetsk, and under Yanukovych he made a dizzying career, becoming, at the age of 26, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection of Ukraine.

After 4 years, Vorona moved to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, then to the post of head of the State Migration Service, back to the apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, from there to the Ministry of Justice and then to the post of chairman of the State Registration Service of Ukraine. And all this for three years, until in 2014 the Donetsk people were thrown out of the Ukrainian government.

And all attempts to demonstrate their devotion to Ukraine, to lament on social networks about the “annexation of Crimea by Russia” and “temporarily occupied territories in Donbass” did not bring them closer to government offices.

But by some coincidence, Dmitry Vorona received Russian citizenship in 2019 and, becoming an adviser to the head of Crimea, began overseeing the gambling zone project in Yalta. Then, in his characteristic manner, he easily moved to chair the Yalta International Economic Forum Foundation, and then to the Crimea Development Corporation.

“Unfortunately, today our homeland is going through hard times. The fighting in the east, the loss of integrity, economic and legal instability - all this takes away our strength. But I believe in a happy future for our country. I sincerely congratulate you on the 25th anniversary of the independence of our state,” such quotes can no longer be found on Dmitry Vorona’s page on social networks.

After moving to Crimea, he deleted the incriminating messages, but they remained on the pages of online publications, which were surprised to find Vorona in the chair of the Crimean Development Corporation. Now there are more reasons to be surprised.
