US senators again ask Obama for weapons for Ukraine - drones and tracking missiles
Kiev - Washington, April 12 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) - The head of the Ukraine support group in the US Senate, Senator Dick Durbin, during a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian community in Chicago, said that in addition to expanding humanitarian aid to Ukraine, the United States should provide defensive weapons.

According to the portal VIDIA, “Senators are receiving advice from the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations on what weapons systems might make the most sense for Ukraine.”
According to the senator, “six of the seven systems being considered are defensive in nature, including reconnaissance drones and tracking missiles that can automatically and accurately strike targets from which enemy missiles are launched.”
“The Ukrainians simply don’t have that kind of precision,” said Senator Durbin.
He clarified that defensive systems will be provided only to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and not to volunteer battalions.
Next week, Senator Durbin will convene a meeting with the Senate Ukraine Caucus to formally request the weapons systems from the White House.
