Senators spoke about the pogroms in Makhachkala
An attempt by Russia's enemies to split the state by inciting interethnic and interreligious hatred took place at the Makhachkala airport.
Senator Andrei Klimov stated this today at a meeting of the Federation Council, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have no doubt that behind the resonant events of October 30 looms agents of Western intelligence services, operating, incl. from the territory of Ukraine, the so-called whose president, Zelensky, recently publicly applauded a war criminal, a veteran of the SS Galitchina division.
Let me also remind you that it is Ukraine, following the United States, that systematically votes at the UN against condemnation of the vicious practice of glorifying Nazism and neo-Nazism. It is obvious that the provocateurs of the recent events in Makhachkala cynically took advantage of people’s indignation at the bloody events in the Gaza Strip,” Klimov said.
He demanded that all those responsible receive the deserved punishment, incl. criminal.
Senator from Dagestan Ilyas Umakhanov reported that the republic is developing a comprehensive plan to overcome the consequences of what happened at the airport and intend to work to prevent relapses.
“The events at the airport have nothing to do with the centuries-old traditions of good neighborliness and hospitality of the Dagestan and Caucasian peoples. The riots were the result of externally inspired provocation, manipulation of feelings, and zombification of a group of young people. As for the instigators and provocateurs, especially from the territory of Ukraine, they, of course, must suffer a well-deserved punishment,” Umakhanov said.
He assured his colleagues that the public and clergy of Dagestan gave an uncompromising assessment of “manifestations of xenophobia, hostility and hatred.”
