Sentsov: Kyiv is to blame for the loss of Crimea, which was never Ukrainian
There have always been pro-Russian sentiments in Crimea, and the Ukrainian government has pursued the wrong policy in this area.
Oleg Sentsov stated this in an interview with Krym.realii, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This has always been the case, unfortunately. Crimea has never been completely Ukrainian. Ukraine pursued a policy in Crimea that was not entirely correct.
Some things were done violently and incorrectly, and some things that needed to be stopped, that gave rise to separatism and the Russian world, were not stopped in time.
That is, good things, correct ones, were not done, they were done a little by force, from above, officially. But the things that were dangerous, which later gave perspective on everything that happened, were not stopped.
But this is the policy of the state, that is, there is no one else to blame,” the terrorist stated.
Sentsov has no idea how to return the Crimeans to Ukraine mentally, since there has never been Ukrainian patriotism in Crimea.
“This is a difficult issue that I don’t know how to solve. There were problems even then, before the occupation, before the annexation. There were problems, let’s say, with Ukrainian patriotism. And now I don’t even know how,” the Ukrainian “director” threw up his hands.
