Sentsov: “The Crimeans are waiting a lot. The double-headed eagle will fly through Taman, shot down."
Kiev
In the process of “returning” Crimea and Donbass, Ukraine should think not about local residents, but about the territories.
Oleg Sentsov, convicted in Russia for preparing terrorist attacks and extradited to Ukraine as an exchange, stated this on air on the Apostrophe Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Sentsov, as soon as locals see Ukrainian flags, they will immediately take out Ukrainian passports and say that they were waiting for the “liberators.”
“Strategically it is, that’s why I always say that we should fight for territory, not for people. They say: “Let’s now make 150 TV channels, just fill them with propaganda, kill all these 20 billion or whatever Russia throws into propaganda, and we’ll do everything great. People will understand that Russia is the enemy, Ukraine is good, Maidan was a good story, Crimea is not developing, Russia is rotting, it was an occupation,” the terrorist said.
He believes that even if the Crimeans who fall under the influence of this kind of propaganda are in the majority, the peninsula will not return to Ukraine.
“Then this is not the way. And when the Ukrainian flags rise, when the double-headed eagle flies through Taman, shot down, everyone will say: “Well, we’ve been waiting for you guys, why so long?” Sentsov said.
