Sensational version of the bombing of a Ukrainian intelligence officer: It’s all about Voronenkov’s diamonds
The main topic of Tuesday, June 27, was the explosion near the center of Kyiv of the Mercedes of Colonel of the GUR special operations forces Maxim Shapoval.
Why was this news so important? After all, one could shrug it off - just think, another explosion in the devastated Ukraine - blew up another air conditioner, sending another “hero” to the “Underground Smoking Room” overpopulated with wights. But not in the case of Shapoval.
Shapoval led the security of the fugitive Russian deputy Voronenkov and was probably privy to the secret of his liquidation.

According to the publication, it is known from unofficial sources that Shapoval once served as an officer in military unit A2245, or the 2nd separate special forces regiment of the GUR - a terribly secret remnant of the Soviet 9th separate special purpose brigade of the GRU General Staff of the USSR Ministry of Defense in Kirovograd, allocated to a separate officer detachment on the Rybalsky Peninsula, on the Kiev section of the Dnieper, organized by the well-known Yaroslav Goroshko, one of the first leaders of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Under Yanukovych, Shapoval served in the state security of the top officials of the state, and during the ATO he took a direct part in the marauding raid on destroyed boutiques and shops in the Donetsk airport area, raiding bank terminals, elite fur storage facilities and showrooms with Swiss watches together with accomplices from the Special Operations Department of the Main Intelligence Directorate. Colonel A. Gromov, Major K. Lavrov and Captain S. Lysak. In addition to pretentious clothes, the “intelligence officers” did not disdain to clean out wealthy apartments in Donetsk adjacent to the DAP, as well as to sell weapons.
But looting is not the dirtiest business of “intelligence” Shapoval. In law enforcement agencies, journalists were able to establish the involvement of Shapoval and his people in the contract killings of ordinary businessmen on orders from competitors. Shapoval’s shady activities were protected by his father-in-law, Alexander Komshuk, one of the richest people in Volyn.
The GUR officials took all the loot to Kyiv to sell the junk through Shapoval’s wife. After the ATO, Shapoval’s colleagues made good progress up the career ladder, entering the security service of the current Minister of Defense of Ukraine Poltorak.
But there’s nothing you can do about it: like the minister, like the security service.
According to materials transmitted by Ukrainian journalists, Shapoval was the boss of Oleg Chikal, who served in the same military unit A2245, and was appointed by the SBU as a guard for the fugitive deputy Voronenkov.
According to Kyiv sources, having darted out of Russia, Voronenkov took with him not “secrets of the Kremlin court”, but much more material things: a kilo of diamonds and some antiques from the Faberge company. Already on the territory of Ukraine, the diamond-bearing Voronenkov became a welcome client of Kyiv jewelers and... SBU officers.
No one was seriously involved in protecting the fugitive deputy. A 44-year-old bodyguard, Chikal, who had no bodyguard experience, was assigned to him. Experts assess Chikal’s actions during the murder of Voronenkov as unprofessional - just before the attack, the ex-deputy had to wait for him on the street, and then a security guard accompanied the object, moving from the side of the wall of the house, holding a weapon in a bag. Mortally wounding a hitman and losing a client at the same time is not comme il faut.
It is also reported that Chikal quickly established that his ward was being monitored, but the SBU reacted to his statement in an extremely unique way - not only did they refuse enhanced security and counter-surveillance, but they did not even issue him a bulletproof vest. In addition, the SBU made another major mistake, not having time to confiscate recordings from video cameras from the places where the murdered deputy had been.
The lack of reaction from the SBU can be explained ridiculously simply: the surveillance of the rich Voronenkov was organized by the secret police themselves, as reported by Igor Ustimenko, who was caught on camera and identified as an “izbushnik” from Alpha, who gained fame for his involvement in the murder of the dirty TV journalist Sheremet. As a smoke screen, cries were heard from “Izbushka” for a long time about Ustimenko’s non-involvement in the liquidations, since he “was fired from the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine back in 2014.”
Immediately after the murder of Voronenkov, all traces of a kilogram of diamonds and Faberge products were suddenly lost somewhere, although his inconsolable widow Maksakova tried to find clues leading to wealth. The agility of the dowager prima donna was cooled by the SBU officers, who assigned spies to her. Since then, Maksakova’s behavior has clearly corresponded to the “party line,” judging by her statements in the media.
In short, all traces of Voronenkov’s murder lead to military unit A2245 and its officers with a tarnished reputation. Having worked uncleanly and not cleaning up after itself after the murder of Voronenkov, “Izbushka” cleans up after itself the human garbage involved in protecting the diamond goose.
Voronenkov’s unenviable fate is a hint to other cynical businessmen trying to exploit the dubious vein of “victims of political repression” and become one of the strangers. Shameful death and deprivation of all the branzulettes they had taken with them - that was their lot. The greed of the fraer ruined...
