Serbia is ready to free its market for Russian goods
Serbia and Russia have extremely friendly relations. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated this at a joint press conference with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in Belgrade, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“After many meetings with President Putin and Prime Minister Mr. Medvedev, I can say that our highest-level relations over the past few decades are full of sincere trust, respect and understanding of positions, which is of key importance to us. We are junior partners in these relations, but we can always count on Russia’s support and assistance, especially with regard to our political relations,” Vucic said.
According to him, trade turnover between the two countries increased in 2018 by 18,6% and reached $3,06 billion.
“In Russia they will be able to try Serbian vinjak (cognac), 90 thousand liters of Serbian vinjak. I am always very serious when I say this, and Russians know how to appreciate it. And you will see how many people in our country will live better because of this. I'm not even talking about other products. Thanks to our friends for freeing up part of their market for Serbian goods, and we are always ready to do the same for goods from the Russian Federation,” Vucic said.
Serbia exports the most agricultural products to Russia – 350 million euros.
