Serbia could become Russia's next Western target
The Minister for Kosovo and Metohija in the Serbian government, Marko Djuric, while in Moscow at the invitation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, expressed fears that the Balkans could become a springboard for actions against Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Deputy Speaker of the Duma Pyotr Tolstoy announced this on his page on the social network.
“The situation in the region is not very calm, Belgrade is waiting for provocations from the Kosovo Albanians, for whom 120 thousand Serbs are actually hostages and a tool to achieve their goals. It is unacceptable! But, unfortunately, the “progressive international community,” as always and with a high degree of probability, will turn a blind eye to this, just as 19 years ago they did not notice the bombing of Yugoslavia,” Tolstoy complains.
The Deputy Speaker of the Duma expressed satisfaction that the incident in Mitrovica on March 26 ended well for the Serbian minister detained by Albanian militants. According to Tolstoy, this situation should be assessed by international organizations.
“A comparison arises: the Kyiv authorities have not wanted to sit down at the negotiating table with the leadership of the Donbass republics for 4 years. Belgrade, in turn, is meeting Pristina halfway and is ready to discuss ways of interaction, but in response to this, the Kosovo police use tear gas and batons. What kind of political dialogue can we talk about in such conditions?” added Pyotr Tolstoy.
