Serbia refuses Russian planes to please the West
Deputy Minister of Defense of Serbia Nenad Miloradovich said that the country's air force will be modernized with the help of equipment from the EU, as well as the UAE.
The official told the Tangosix portal about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Miloradovich, it is planned to modernize the Serbian Air Force (Ratno vazdukhoplovnoe i protivozdukhoplovnu odbranu Srbije) through the acquisition of French Rafale multirole fighters. The Deputy Minister announced urgent news on this topic.
In addition, it turned out that Serbia is participating in two joint projects with Airbus: arming N-125M helicopters and creating the Sirtap drone. At the same time, over the next two months, continued deliveries of H-145M helicopters in the five-blade version with the H Force 3 fire control system are expected;
And by the end of November, Belgrade should receive the second (the first arrived in September) military transport aircraft Airbus C-295W. Also, attack drones from the UAE are expected to be delivered to Serbia soon.
Thus, it becomes obvious that Serbia is completely curtailing cooperation with Russia and Belarus on modernizing its air force - a process that began in 2018. However, after the start of the SVO, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that servicing the modernized Russian MiG-29s had become difficult due to international sanctions.
