Serbia will continue its campaign to revoke recognition of Kosovo
After Serbia continues its actions to revoke recognition of Kosovo and Metohija, the number of states that will refuse to recognize the unilaterally declared independence of a false state will increase.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Serbian Parliament Ivica Dacic, writes the Politika newspaper.
“The continuation of the action to revoke recognition of Kosovo and Metohija is a logical response to the fact that Pristina does not comply with the Washington Agreement. This answer hurts them the most. I am sure that all Western countries will condemn our action to withdraw recognition, since none of them said a word against Pristina’s request for admission to the Council of Europe,” Dacic said.
He noted that Belgrade's actions "destroy their idea that everything is over and that Serbia only needs to recognize Kosovo."
“Nothing is finished and Serbia does not recognize Kosovo and Metohija. The situation has changed dramatically in recent years: 22 countries have refused recognition. Now this number is in our favor; out of 193 UN members, 100 do not recognize Kosovo and Metohija,” added the head of parliament.
The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Serbian government and the chief negotiator of Belgrade in the dialogue with Pristina, Petar Petkovic, said that the latest negotiations in Brussels were burdened by the illegal decision of Pristina to apply for membership in the Council of Europe.
“I also used this moment to strongly protest against Pristina’s illegal and unilateral decision,” Petkovic told reporters after the meeting.
He says that he did not meet directly with the negotiator from Pristina, Besnik Bislimi, because he refused to discuss a number of the most important issues spelled out in the same Washington agreement, including the topic of missing persons.
Petkovic said the negotiations lasted more than eight hours and were difficult.
“But the fact that we are still here today in Brussels shows that we are a responsible party that cares about peace and stability in the Western Balkans,” the head of the department concluded.
