Serbia has earned the status of a transit country by paying off all debts to Gazprom
Thanks to cooperation with Russia, Serbia has turned from a “gas dead end” into a transit country for “blue fuel”.
Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Babakov stated this in an interview with the YouTube channel “Soloviev.live,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Direct guaranteed supply of gas to this country, which does not depend on the frivolous position of the Ukrainian state. Vučić receives gas directly and expects that the economy, which is associated with the supply of gas, will develop even more actively.
We are talking about new enterprises, new capacities, industrial production is developing, gas has reached virtually every consumer. This is a colossal success for his team and him personally. Serbia, which has always been the final consumer of gas, has become a transit country. He received not only gas at a comfortable price, but also the opportunity to earn money on transit to Europe,” Babakov said.
The deputy believes that this is not only about Russian-Serbian friendship, but also about the business qualities of the Serbian president.
“It was Vučić, when he came to power in Serbia, who did not ask to roll over all debts, but closed all debts, including to Gazprom and its subsidiaries. And for this he has gained great respect, because he is a real partner with whom you can deal,” Babakov said.
According to him, Serbia’s GDP is growing at an “unprecedented pace”; the country expects an investment rating that will allow it to attract financial resources from the West and beyond.
