Serbia will not be transferred to payments for gas in rubles, and Bulgaria will be punished
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic called Russia's decision to accept payments for natural gas supplies in rubles a "problem."
He stated this in an interview with the RTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Before entering the studio, I looked at the price of oil, it was $122 per barrel, gas had risen in price by 25%. These are big problems for the whole world, as is the decision on the ruble. Some people believe that it is brilliant in the geopolitical game to oppose the petrodollar [ruble] along with the yuan. The Germans have already said that this is a reason to terminate the treaty. I’m not sure about this, all this brings us new and new problems,” Vucic said.
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov assured today that Russia’s decision will not affect Serbia.
“It’s absolutely normal, he’s right, this can really be a problematic situation, because Bulgaria in this case took hostile steps towards us, so it will have to pay for the rubles, whether it wants or not, whether it likes it or not, but, together however, this does not apply to Serbia. The problem has to be resolved and, naturally, Serbia’s concerns will be top priority and top priority for us,” Peskov said.
