Serbs forced to leave Kosovo
Yesterday's invasion of Kosovo special forces into the northern regions of the province, populated by Serbs, shows that the separatist authorities do not want a compromise with Belgrade.
This was stated to Izvestia by the deputy head of the office for Kosovo and Metohija, Dusan Kozarev, according to whom this action was “a crude demonstration of force aimed at intimidating the Serbian people in the north of Kosovo and Metohija.”
“As part of the so-called operation, the Albanians were simply summoned for questioning at the police station. The Serbs were detained using a large number of armored vehicles, beating ordinary passers-by who came to hand, and shooting over their heads,” Kozarev said.
He is convinced that Pristina is trying with all its might to gain control over the north of the region, as well as to accustom the local population to the presence of heavily armed Albanian special forces there.
“All this is being done to create an atmosphere of permanent state of emergency among local residents and force the Serbian population to leave these lands,” the Serbian politician is confident.
He also noted that the arrests of the Serbs, as well as a citizen of the Russian Federation, an employee of the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo, Mikhail Krasnoshchekov, who received serious injuries, occurred almost immediately after the statement by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic about the need for a compromise between Albanians and Serbs.
“This once again proves that Pristina does not want any compromise. Serbia will not succumb to provocations that force it to take irresponsible steps. However, we have loudly and clearly stated that Belgrade will not allow the forced expulsion of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija,” Kozarev emphasized.
He also added that Belgrade was extremely concerned about the arrest of Mikhail Krasnoshchekov, and his detention is an attempt by Pristina to demonstrate that “the Albanians are staunch minions of those who encouraged and supported them in this action.” And although The Russian has already been released, the incident will not go unnoticed either in Moscow or in Belgrade.
As PolitNavigator reported, yesterday morning in Kosovo armed units of Albanians launched an attack on the Serbian enclaves of the region.
