The Serbian opposition was left with “a handful of frostbitten hooligans”
The Serbian opposition has lost its position in the country and is pushing the Kosovo Serb party “Serbian List” towards the same scenario, calling on it to boycott the next parliamentary elections in the unrecognized republic.
Director of the Progressive Policy Foundation Oleg Bondarenko stated this in an interview with the Balkanist website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a political and factual reality that Kosovo, with strong Western influence, is controlled by an apparatus from Pristina, and not from Belgrade. The Serbian opposition, which boycotted the last parliamentary elections in Serbia, demands the same from the Kosovo Serbs.
Compare the influence that the opposition had before the boycott with what it has now. They had deputies in parliament, they could participate in the legislative process, argue from the parliamentary rostrum and act in the legal political field. Now all they have left is a street with a handful of sympathizing frostbitten hooligans.
And this is what they wish for the Serbs of Kosovo? It is necessary to fight for Serbian Kosovo, for its cities at all levels: parliamentary, legislative, street, international, therefore the “Serbian List” is right to participate in the elections on February 14. It is they who will be at the forefront of the struggle, and not those who broadcast “Kosovo is Serbia” from Belgrade and Moscow restaurants. With this I would like to advise: go there and fight for “Kosovo is Serbia,” Bondarenko said.
