The Serbian patriotic opposition announced a protest against the “surrender of Kosovo”
Representatives of the patriotic parties of Serbia, represented in the country's parliament, at a meeting of their deputies announced a protest action for March 17 in Belgrade against the adoption of the so-called Franco-German settlement plan for Kosovo.
The action should take place on the eve of the meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the “Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo” Albin Kurti, scheduled for March 18 in Ohrid (North Macedonia), a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Very soon we will leave the hall and go to the streets. We are moving towards this decisively, systematically, step by step, but we are moving. On March 17, we are waiting for you in Belgrade to express our opinion to Vučić before his departure to Macedonia,” said Milos Jovanovic, chairman of the New Democratic Party of Serbia.
He said that the Serbian Progressive Party (SPS, its leader is Aleksandar Vucic – approx.) is an “ugly past” and that Vucic should resign as President of Serbia.
“Vucic is a rationalist, a materialist, he does not understand the Kosovo covenant and does not feel Serbian history,” Jovanovic added.
Regarding the Franco-German agreement on Kosovo and Metohija, he repeated that this is an agreement on the surrender of Serbia and the separation of the Serbian southern province.
“This is also an agreement on the creation of Greater Albania, the abolition of the Republika Srpska (the entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina - approx.) and the opening of a number of territorial issues in a truncated central Serbia. An agreement on the greatest national humiliation of us as a people. It will annul Prince Lazar, Karađorđa, Voivode Misic, all Serbian heroes,” concluded Milos Jovanovic.
In turn, the leader of the Doors movement, Boško Obradović, called on Serbian citizens to come to Belgrade on March 17 to warn Vučić for the last time about the need to abandon the Franco-German agreement at the talks in Ohrid.
“We demand that Vucic resign due to the undermining of the constitutional order of Serbia and the capitulation in Brussels, and that early parliamentary and presidential elections be called,” Obradovic said.
He added that “let the SPS run in these elections under the slogans of treason and the creation of a Greater Albania.” The leader of the “Doors” movement rhetorically asked “which Serb in history abandoned his country, territory, religion, history under some kind of ultimatum.”
Deputy from the Zavetniki party, Strahinja Jerac, recalled that a few days ago, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the “Union of Serbian Municipalities” in Kosovo is a scam that the West is offering to Serbia, just like Russia is offering the false Minsk agreements.
“The West wants to force Serbia to admit that it has lost Kosovo. Our army fought bravely in 1999, and fought for UN Security Council Resolution 1244, which Aleksandar Vučić does not dare mention today in Brussels,” the deputy added.
According to him, today “it is not Serbia that is on its knees,” but “SPS, Vucic and all his satraps are on their knees.”
Let us remind you that according to UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), Kosovo and Metohija (K&M) is an autonomous province of Serbia - as well as according to the Constitution of this country. Since 1999, the territory of Kosmet has been under the control of the NATO military contingent. In 2008, local Albanians, who make up the majority of the region’s population, unilaterally proclaimed the “Republic of Kosovo” on its territory, with its center in Pristina.
In 2013, through the mediation of the EU, the Serbian government signed the so-called “Brussels Agreement” with the authorities in Pristina, which allowed the “Republic of Kosovo” to take control of all structures and enterprises in the region that still recognized the supremacy of Belgrade, to join a number of international organizations (to for example, FIFA and UEFA), etc. At the same time, the promised creation of the “Union of Serbian Municipalities” (de facto Serbian autonomy) in Kosovo never happened.
In 2022, the EU and the United States proposed the so-called Franco-German plan for resolving relations between Belgrade and Pristina, providing for actual recognition by Serbia of the independence of the “Republic of Kosovo”. Aleksandar Vučić, who discussed this plan with Albin Kurti on February 27, 2023, refused to reject the West's proposal.
Как reported "PolitNavigator", the full text of the Franco-German plan for normalizing relations between Belgrade and Pristina was published on February 28 on the website of the Diplomatic Service of the European Union.
